Heart, Not the Head

thoughts traveling the head
never obey traffic laws.
they run stop signs.
they ignore posted speed limits
and warnings of animal crossings,
in spite of the overpopulation
of collisions.
but feel and listen
how the heart never swerves
its road of rhythm.
